Keep

An open-source AIOps and alert-management platform that deduplicates, correlates, and routes alerts from over 100 monitoring tools.

What it is

Keep is an open-source, MIT-licensed alert management and AIOps platform that sits between monitoring tools and the humans who respond to them: it ingests alerts from a large number of providers (including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Amazon CloudWatch, New Relic, and PagerDuty itself), deduplicates and correlates related alerts, and routes the result through declarative, YAML-defined workflows — closer to “GitHub Actions for monitoring alerts” than a traditional on-call scheduler. It gained a notable open-source alternative option in this space after Grafana OnCall OSS was archived in March 2026, leaving fewer actively maintained self-hosted options for alert routing and on-call workflows.

Why teams choose it

  • Self-hosted, no per-seat pricing. As an MIT-licensed open-source project, Keep can be run entirely in-house with no per-user subscription cost, which matters for teams that want to avoid the seat-based pricing common across commercial incident tools.
  • Broad provider coverage out of the box. Integrations with well over 100 monitoring and alerting sources mean most existing stacks can plug in without custom glue code.
  • Workflow-as-code rather than a fixed UI flow. Declarative YAML workflows make alert-handling logic reviewable and version-controllable the same way infrastructure-as-code is, rather than living only in a web UI’s configuration screens.
  • Younger and narrower than full incident-management suites. Keep focuses on alert correlation, deduplication, and routing rather than the fuller incident lifecycle (postmortems, status pages, stakeholder communication) that platforms like PagerDuty or incident.io cover.

Pricing model

Keep’s core is free, open-source software that can be self-hosted with no licensing cost; a managed cloud offering is also available for teams that don’t want to operate the deduplication and workflow engine themselves.

Alternatives

PagerDuty and incident.io are the leading commercial, fully managed alternatives with broader incident-lifecycle features beyond alert routing. Grafana Cloud IRM is Grafana Labs’ commercial successor product following the archival of the open-source Grafana OnCall project.
